Safeguarding fishing interests on the river Usk
The UUFA is an independant Association representing riparian owners, clubs, associations, organisations and all persons interested in the preservation of Fishing on the River Usk and its Tributaries.
The Officers and Committee represent our members on every official body that governs local legislation and the well being of our beautiful riverine ecology.

The Angling Trust has written to Fisheries Minister Richard Benyon MP asking him to to reduce the red tape tangling up the process for applying for a licence to control fish-eating birds, which cause untold damage the UK’s £3.5 billion angling industry. Many angling clubs and fisheries which have been in existence for generations are struggling to survive, putting at risk vital direct and indirect rural employment. Without adequate fish stocks, their rivers or lakes cease to attract visiting and local anglers.

Since our first post telling you about the UUFA’s intention to apply for a river wide license to kill fish eating birds, we have received further help and advice based on experience gained in a successful licence application.
